This traditional Kerala style building with a hall dedicated toward classical Indian dance, drama and music, is a great place for acoustic performances. The traditional arrangement of the hall means that the audience and performers are on the same level, adding intimacy to any performance.
The hall has a clean live sound which is soothing to both the performers and audience alike. We were called in to help reduce the "boomy" sound and tame resonance which made direct sound coming from the performer unclear.
By tackling specific frequencies and surfaces with absorption we were able control the sound. The key was to study and identify these frequencies, the affected areas, and the ratio of treatment that certain surfaces needed. The end result is a terrific hall for classical Indian performing arts.
